Oladiwura Morolake Laniyan is an Innovative woman with a broad knowledge and extensive abilities in several areas; she has been part of many significant and vast projects both home and abroad. Professionally worked in a Multi-disciplinary Service Team Cancer Pathway Kings College NHS trust, she later worked with the Mental Health Team Team South London and Maudsley NHS trust.
She was born in Ibadan, Western part of Nigeria, where she had her primary and secondary school education. She earned a BSc in Social Policy and Sociology at the Metropolitan University London. Completed her Postgraduate studies , achieving an MSc in Human Resources Management at the University of Wales, Cardiff.
As a remarkably steadfast woman who conceded through a girls' secondary school in the western part of Nigeria, she understands the challenges, lifestyle and consequent vulnerability of girls which may lead to a lifetime of adverse change. This influenced Morolake’s passion to educating the girl-child.
Her involvement with different forms of cancer treatment, understanding the pathways while working in the NHS inspired her to participate in promoting cancer research and contributes to fundraising and charity events like, Race for Life events for women, Walk the Walk fundraising events for breast cancer, Macmillan’s Coffee Morning fundraising event, Save the Children fundraiser for charity that provides healthcare, food and education to children around the world.
She remains devoted and believes educating a girl-child eventually produces educated mothers, who will in turn educate her children. Educating a girl-child means to train her mind, character, abilities, income and welfare against current and future poverty.
